inZOI: Character Studio is the demo version of the highly anticipated simulation inZOI, a game that allows players to walk different paths of life using characters called ZOI. Here, users can create ideal characters using tools, dress them however they want, and live the life they’ve always dreamed about.
inZOI: Character Studio offers hyperrealistic graphics made by Unreal Engine 5 with an extensive set of functional tools featuring over 250 customization options to produce the best possible characters. This version lets users imagine characters before using them later in the base game.
A glimpse into inZOI
Before KRAFTON Inc., the developer, and publisher of inZOI, releases the full game, it introduces you to inZOI: Character Studio first, the demo that gives a partial glimpse of what's in store in the complete version. In this version, you can choose the appearance of your body type, including body type and facial structure. There are also diverse outfits that you can mix and match to achieve the aesthetic you’re aiming for.
The game’s smartphone facial recognition feature, allows you to change and switch your ZOI’s expression seamlessly, which ‘Studio’ can take photos of and store in the built-in UGC platform called ‘Canvas.’ Once the full version of this game is released, the creations you made can be reused in it, giving you the advantage of playing the game with pre-made elements.
Downsides and room for improvement
However, to create a ZOI and utilize the demo version, you must create a Krafton account. Not only that but there are reported cases of ZOIs getting deleted when saving them in Canvas, as well. Clothes, on the other hand, are gender-locked. This means traditionally feminine clothing can’t be put on male characters and traditionally masculine clothing can’t be put on female characters.
As KRAFTON is also the publisher of the battle royale game PUBG or PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, this program can appear as a built-in or companion program to its character customization mode well into the game, as it shares the same elements as well. The lack of genderfluid clothing when creating a ZOI is truly unfortunate, since PUBG isn’t so restrictive of this. Knowing them, however, this will be improved in the future.
